Workshop on Breaking down Barriers for Individuals with Disabilities – Counseling Support
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Thierry Kolpin (Associate Professor, School of Education, School Counseling, Brandman University, USA) which helped participants to develop and improve upon their skills in assisting Individuals with Disabilities.
Through this workshop, participants were able to gain the knowledge and skills that can help them to be effective allies for Individuals with Disabilities and support them in both their sychological and physical realms. This included working directly with Individuals with Disabilities, but also supporting them externally by advocating for them in ways that have direct effects on their Physical and Psychological well-being. The workshop content included the skills needed for counseling individuals with disabilities, How the counselor can best build rapport, How the counselor can best maintain the process, How the counselor can best engage the counselee, Interactive activities to help participants practice the counseling skills previously discussed, Review of material and added information to further support participants knowledge on skills
Workshop on Virtual Mental Health Delivery
A workshop on “Virtual Mental Health Services: using Technology to Reach Global Populations” was successfully conducted by the two prominent speakers in the field Conference Chair Dr. Loren O’Connor together with Dr. Thierry Kolpin (Brandman University, USA) which was open to all individuals interested in learning more about virtual mental health services.
